The moon will reach it’s peak illumination at 8:22pm tonight, April 12th 2025 in the sign of Libra. Full moon’s are typically associated with heightened emotions, energetic vibrations, and are prime opportunities to release what no longer serves you. After a full moon, the moon transitions to the waning gibbous beginning to decrease from its 100% illuminated state during full moon and then shrinking daily. Eventually, the moon will continue its cycle through the third quarter, waning crescent, and finally, the new moon phase. So, this peak illumination is like the climax or turning point in which we can let go and move into the next phase of things.
The "Pink Moon" is the name for the April full moon, paying homage to the first full moon of spring and the blooming of certain pink wildflowers like creeping phlox. While the moon may appear pinkish at moonrise due to atmospheric scattering, the name is primarily a reference to the blooming wildflowers of spring.
This full moon is in Libra which is associated with balance, harmony and relationships. With the full moon in this sign, we may feel drawn to evaluate our commitments and the way we show up in our relationships.
The moon makes challenging aspects to Venus (the planet of beauty, art, the feminine) and Chiron (the wounded healer). So, we may experience the healing of karmic wounds related to love relationships and self-worth.
This full moon aligns with the fixed star Spica, the star in the sign of Virgo and is regarded as one of the most positive stars in the sky. Spica gives spiritual strength, helps overcome adversity, and ensures a successful healing process.
So with this full moon, take time to reflect on your relationships. What do you want to remain committed to? What do you need to release or let go of in order to heal and move into a deeper form of connection in your relationships?
Wishing you peace, harmony, and love.
See you on the other side.
