There’s a new moon in Gemini emerging at 11:02 pm EST on May 26th, 2025. This marks a period of new beginnings, the closing out of the previous lunar cycle, the beginning of new lunar cycle, and on an emotional level a sense of completion around how you see yourself and the world.
Gemini is a mutable sign (meaning it is adaptable) and represents the multiplicity and paradox of being able to hold multiple things at one time. Similar to a hummingbird and how it flits from one flower to the next, Gemini has a way of moving through the world with flexibility, adaptability and curiosity.
Gemini is ruled by Mercury and Mercury is at the early degrees of Gemini. With the ruling planet in its sign, it adds a sense of ease and organic emphasis around the qualities of the sign. So in Gemini’s case, having a flexible mind-state, shifting, exploring, being open to seeking new information.
Mercury is aspecting several planets: it is sextiling Saturn, Neptune and Ceres in Aries. This is a subtle aspect and points to a literal manifestation (Saturn) of your vision (Neptune) coming more into focus as well as a sense of clarity and perspective (Ceres).
Mercury is also trining Pluto so there’s a potential for tapping into inner resources and healing or finding access to some reserves or hidden information. This is a supportive aspect for doing divination or healing work.
Mercury will make a conjunction to the Sun in Gemini. Often called a Cazimi (fancy term for when a planet is at the same degree as the Sun), which symbolizes the heart of the Sun and its protective and revitalizing qualities for the planet (in this case Mercury). With Mercury being the planet of communication, information, and technology, there may be a new way of communicating or new information that emerges from this Cazimi.
You may be resetting your perspective this week. The process may be very internal and possibly not conscious until we have more distance or perspective. With the New Moon in Gemini, themes around new insights and fresh ideas are amplified. There is the potential for dipping into a more symbolic way of living and our connection to the natural world.
Dreams may play a supportive role in helping us understand our subconscious and listening to messages that emerge during this time.
Astroid Ceres in Aries is sextiling Pluto in Aquarius at this time. Goddess asteroid Ceres is an embodiment of the myth of Ceres. Ceres symbolizes our experience of working with separation, loss and working with the dynamics in our maternal family line. It can also signify how we experience emotional boundaries particularly in our family system but also in our adult relationships. This aspect can indicate healing experiences or some sort of changes/shifts in our relationships as well as understanding emotional boundaries. Pluto symbolizes healing through exploration and often manifests as us moving toward things that invoke a strong emotional response. Pluto is also about control. This sextile is supportive, so it may offer a release around relationships that we have been trying to heal from.
